Does a robot mower need a garage or cover?
No. Robot mowers are built to sit outside on their charging station through the mowing season, and they carry water-resistance ratings for that reason. A garage is an optional extra, and most mowers don't include one.
A garage or canopy can help in a few ways: it keeps direct sun off the mower on hot days, keeps leaves and bird droppings off the charging contacts, and some people like the look. The downsides are cost, a bigger footprint by the dock, and the risk of getting in the way. A roof over a wire-free mower must not block the RTK aerial's view of the sky, the LiDAR or the cameras, and the mower must still be able to dock squarely.
