Most people buy a robot mower and never need more than a pack of blades. But a few accessories solve real problems: a roof over a dock that sits in full sun, a reference station for a garden with weak 4G, or a second battery for a large lawn. Each page below lists the products we track, the models each one fits according to the manufacturer, and current prices where we have them.
What each category is for
- Garages and houses: a roof over the charging station that keeps sun, rain and falling leaves off the mower. Useful, not essential. Our guide do you need a robot mower garage? goes into the detail.
- Blades and cutting discs: the one accessory every owner buys. Blades are wear parts, and a few sets a year is normal.
- Covers: sunshades, dust covers and storage bags. Some are for use in the season, some for winter storage.
- Ramps: for getting a mower over a step or raised edge between two lawns. We don't track any yet, but the page explains what to look for.
- RTK stations and antennas: reference stations, antenna kits, mounts and cables for satellite-guided mowers.
- Spare batteries: replacements for a worn battery, and on a few models a way to mow for longer.
How we list accessories
Every product comes from a manufacturer's own UK catalogue, with its part number and a link to the manufacturer's page where there is one. The "Fits" list shows the mower families the manufacturer says the product is compatible with. When a manufacturer doesn't say, we tell you rather than guess.
Prices work the same way as for mowers: where a UK retailer stocks the accessory and allows automated price checks, the page shows its current price and when we last checked it. Otherwise you'll see the manufacturer's recommended retail price. Accessories are checked less often than mowers, typically once a day in the mowing season. See how we get prices for the full rules.
Before you buy
- Check the exact model, not just the brand. A garage for one Mammotion or Husqvarna range may not fit another, and blade packs differ between ranges.
- Look at what's already in the box. Some mowers include a garage or a spare set of blades. The mower's page lists what's included.
- Think about running costs. Blades and, eventually, a battery are the accessories you'll actually pay for over a mower's life. The running-costs calculator includes blades.
We haven't tested these accessories hands-on. Compatibility and specifications come from the manufacturers; if you spot something wrong, let us know.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need any accessories to use a robot mower?
Usually not. A robot mower comes with everything it needs to mow: the mower, a charging station and, for wired models, a starter kit of wire and pegs. Some wire-free models need a separate RTK station if your mobile signal is poor, so check that before you buy the mower.
Do third-party accessories fit robot mowers?
Some do, especially garages and blades, but sizes and fixings vary between brands and even between models from the same brand. The products on our pages are the manufacturers' own, with the compatibility they publish. If you buy a third-party part, compare its measurements with the manufacturer's and read your warranty terms.
Which robot mower accessory is most worth buying?
Spare blades. They're cheap, they wear out every few weeks to months, and a sharp set makes the biggest difference to how the lawn looks. A garage or cover is a comfort rather than a necessity for most gardens.
