Honda Miimo in the UK

Honda, the Japanese engine and vehicle maker founded in 1948, sells its Miimo robot mowers in the UK through a network of authorised dealers. That shapes the whole ownership experience. A dealer normally installs the mower, registers the warranty and services it each year, and in return Honda gives a five-year domestic warranty, longer than most rivals offer.

The range is conservative. Most Miimos still follow a boundary wire and detect obstacles by touch, and Honda has been slower than rivals to move to wire-free navigation. Its first wire-free models arrived on the price list in 2026, and Honda has said a larger all-wheel-drive Miimo is planned for 2027.

The range explained

• Miimo HRM 1000 to 4000 (wired): the Honda Miimo HRM 1000 to 4000 is the core range, launched in 2024, rated for 1,000–4,000 m² and 47% slopes. "Live" versions add a mobile connection. Note that the HRM 2500 is rated for 3,000 m², and Honda's manual recommends smaller areas than the names for the HRM 1000 and 1500.
• Miimo HRM 40 and 70 (wired): the Honda Miimo HRM 40 and 70 are smaller, older-design mowers for lawns up to 700 m², with a lower 27% slope rating. They look like run-out stock.
• Miimo 1500i and 2200i (wire-free): the Honda Miimo 1500i and 2200i use network RTK over built-in 4G, with the same 47% slope rating as the wired HRM range. The 2200i adds ultrasonic sensors that detect obstacles without touching them.

The earlier HRM 310, 520 and 3000 are discontinued, but manuals are still in Honda's owner's manual index.

Which Honda should I buy?

• Medium to large lawn, happy with a wire: the Honda Miimo HRM 1000 to 4000, from £474. Choose a Live model if you want remote control and GPS theft tracking, and the HRM 4000 Live for the biggest lawns; it's the only one with automatic height adjustment and IPX5.
• Open, sloping lawn, and you want to lose the wire: the Honda Miimo 1500i and 2200i, from RRP £2,075. Honda hasn't published noise, cutting height or subscription terms yet, so get those answers from the dealer in writing before buying. The 2200i is the safer choice for busy family lawns.
• Small lawn: the HRM 40 and 70 are ageing, and their Live connection may depend on older mobile networks. The HRM 1000 starts at a similar price and is rated for a larger area.

Who shouldn't buy a Honda? Anyone who wants to buy online and skip dealer servicing, or who wants camera-based obstacle avoidance. Tech and app

The wired Miimos use three swing-back blades on a disc; Honda hasn't yet published the blade type for the 1500i and 2200i. The HRM 40 and 70 use Honda's Map & Mow system to cut in stripes rather than at random, and the HRM 2500 models can share a very large lawn with a second Miimo.

Non-Live models connect to the Mii-monitor app over Bluetooth, and the HRM 1000 to 4000 Live models add a mobile connection for remote control, Alexa, satellite-assisted homing, Free Zones and geofence anti-theft. Honda notes these GPS features need open sky. On the older HRM 40 and 70 Live, Honda's UK spec table describes the connection as 2G roaming, and Honda commits to it only until the end of 2031. UK warranty, support and where to buy

Honda UK gives five years' warranty for domestic use on current Miimos, covering parts and labour through authorised dealers. It's conditional on warranty registration by the dealer and servicing to Honda's schedule, so include an annual service in your budget. Professional users get one year on the HRM 40 and 70 models and two years on the HRM 1000 to 4000 Live range.
