How it navigates and sets up

The EyePilot is wire-free. Kress runs its own network of RTK reference stations (RTKn), so the mower gets centimetre-level satellite corrections over the internet without a base-station antenna in your garden. It combines those with a camera, an inertial sensor and wheel odometry; Kress says this sensor fusion holds the mower's position when satellite reception is weak, for example beside a house or under trees.

Kress sells only through dealers, and dealer set-up is the normal route. That makes it more expensive to get started than self-install brands, but you get someone local to map the lawn and help if problems come up. Kress rates it for slopes up to 40% with rear-wheel drive.

Cutting

Each EyePilot cuts with three blades. Width is 200 mm–240 mm depending on the model, and height runs from 20 mm to 60 mm. The 500 to 1000 models have manual height adjustment; the 1500, 3000 and 10000 adjust electrically. ZeroTrim models add Kress's edge-cutting system. Kress quotes a perceived sound level of 58 dB(A)–62 dB(A), with the 10000 at the top of that range.

App, connectivity and security

All models have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; 4G models add an embedded SIM with data that Kress says needs nothing activated or renewed. On non-4G models, Kress sells an anti-theft kit with 4G. The app supports several zones with routing between them, and a PIN lock is fitted. The body is rated IPX6. Running costs, warranty and support

For residential use the warranty is 2 years, extended by a year if you register within 30 days; Kress covers the battery for one year. Commercial use gets much shorter cover. Kress is part of Positec, the group that also owns Worx, but runs its own RTKn network and dealer support.
