Which version do you need?
The 800 is the entry model: same drivetrain and slope rating, but no ZeroTrim edge system and a lower noise figure. The 1500 and 3000 add ZeroTrim. The 10000 is for very large grounds, with a wider 24 cm cut. Choose by lawn area, and note that Kress's 10000 figure is based on a 48-hour cycle; it quotes half that per 24 hours.
How it navigates and sets up
The EyePilot 4×4 uses the same navigation as the 2WD Kress EyePilot: satellite positioning corrected by Kress's own RTKn network over the internet, backed up by a camera, an inertial sensor and wheel odometry. There's no boundary wire and no base-station antenna. A dealer normally installs it, since Kress sells only through its dealer network.
The difference is the chassis. Four motors, an articulated body and front-wheel steering give it a slope rating of 84%, and Kress claims it can climb over obstacles up to 60 mm high. For what slope percentages mean on a real bank, see our slopes guide.
Cutting
A self-levelling disc carries four blades and cuts 220 mm–240 mm depending on the model. Height is adjusted electrically from 20 mm to 70 mm. The 1500, 3000 and 10000 have Kress's ZeroTrim edge system; the 800 doesn't. Kress quotes a perceived sound level of 58 dB(A)–62 dB(A), the higher figure applying to the larger models.
App, connectivity and security
Every model has 4G with an embedded SIM, which Kress says is included from the start with no fees, alongside Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The app manages several zones with routing between them, and a PIN lock is fitted. The body is rated IPX6. Kress sells an anti-theft kit for 4G models as an extra.
Running costs, warranty and support
For residential use, the warranty is 2 years, extended by a year if you register within 30 days; batteries have one year. Commercial use gets shorter cover. Servicing and repairs go through Kress dealers. RRPs on Kress's UK site run from £1,749–£3,949; dealer prices may differ, and the lowest price we currently track is £1,749.
