Ambrogio robots are made in Italy by Zucchetti Centro Sistemi and sold in the UK by Ambrogio UK, a distributor in Lincoln, through a dealer network. That dealer model shapes everything about owning one. Most buyers have a dealer lay the perimeter wire, and the longest warranties depend on a dealer service every year.
The range is traditional in approach. Where many newer brands have moved to satellite or camera navigation, most Ambrogios still follow a buried or pegged wire and mow in a random pattern. That is less fashionable, but it's reliable in gardens full of trees, high hedges and buildings.
The range explained
- L60 Elite: a small "drop and mow" robot with no wire, no GPS and no charging dock. Sensors underneath detect grass, and corner sensors detect drops at the edge. You carry it to its charger. Four-wheel drive and a 50% slope rating, but a narrow height range.
- Twenty: the core wired range, in six versions rated from 700 m² to 3,500 m². Deluxe versions use a keypad and Bluetooth; Elite versions add GPS-assisted zoning and remote control.
- Twenty ZR: a Twenty that uses radar instead of a boundary wire to find the lawn edge, rated for 1,000 m².
- 4.0 Elite: the premium wired model for big lawns, with motorised height adjustment and a 4WD option.
Which Ambrogio should I buy?
- Tiny lawns with hard edges all round: the Ambrogio L60 Elite, if you're happy to carry it in to charge. It needs a clear physical edge, such as paving or a step down, on every side.
- Most lawns from about 500 m² to 3,500 m²: the Ambrogio Twenty. Match the rated area to your lawn and choose an Elite version if you want remote control. RRPs run £1,249–£3,199, before wire and installation.
- Lawns up to about 800 m² where you'd rather not lay wire: the Ambrogio Twenty ZR. Ambrogio documents the radar system thinly, so ask a dealer to assess your garden first.
- Large or rough lawns with a dealer relationship: the Ambrogio 4.0 Elite. Size it on the manual's lower area figure, not the headline UK one.

Tech and app
Connectivity depends on the model. Deluxe models and the L60 use Bluetooth, so you need to be nearby. Elite models include ZCS Connect, which combines GPS with a GSM link for remote control, geofence alerts and voice assistants such as Alexa. The manuals list 2G GSM bands, and Ambrogio doesn't say whether the module has moved to 4G or whether data charges apply, so ask the dealer. Older mobile networks won't be around forever, so that question matters for a mower you might keep for many years.
UK warranty, support and where to buy
Buy through Ambrogio UK or one of its dealers. The standard warranty is two years, including the battery. Twenty-platform robots sold from 2024 can get a third year, and 4.0-platform robots up to six years in total, both on a parts-only basis and only if a dealer services the mower every year and logs it. That's a long cover period, but price in the annual service when comparing total costs with a cheaper mower on a shorter warranty.
