Which version do you need?
Both models share the same 18 cm cut, weight and 47% slope rating. The 1500i is rated for 1,500 m² and relies on 360° bump sensors. The 2200i is rated for 2,200 m² and adds ultrasonic sensors that detect obstacles without touching them, plus an on-board display. For busy family lawns, or anything over about 1,200 m², the 2200i is the safer choice.
How it navigates and sets up
The Miimo 1500i and 2200i are Honda's first mowers without a boundary wire. Honda describes them as using network RTK: a satellite receiver takes correction data over the built-in 4G connection, so there's no wire and no base station in the garden. Exclusion zones are set in the app. Honda announced the pair in October 2025 and lists them on its July 2026 UK price list, but it hasn't published a UK product page, so setup details are thin. A dealer install is the likely route.
Network RTK works best with a clear view of the sky and a reliable mobile signal. Close to buildings or under trees, accuracy can drop. See our network RTK and 4G guide. Honda rates both for slopes up to 47%, the same as its wired HRM range.
Cutting
Both cut 180 mm. Honda hasn't published the cutting-height range, blade type or noise level for these models yet. The 1500i detects obstacles by bumping into them; the 2200i adds ultrasonic sensors, which should reduce contact with toys, pets and garden furniture.
App, connectivity and security
4G is built in. Honda hasn't named the app or said whether the connection or RTK service carries a fee. Its older Live models use the Mii-monitor app, but we can't confirm the same app applies here. Ask the dealer about theft features too, as Honda hasn't listed them for these models.
Running costs, warranty and support
Honda's price list gives 5 years for domestic use, via authorised dealers and subject to registration and servicing to Honda's schedule. Budget for that annual service. Honda's contact centre is on 0345 200 8000. Prices start from RRP £2,075. Honda has also said a larger all-wheel-drive Miimo is planned for 2027.

Do the Honda Miimo 1500i and 2200i need a boundary wire?
No. Honda says they use network RTK: an RTK satellite receiver with corrections sent over 4G, so there's no wire and no base station to install.
Is there a subscription for the 4G or RTK service?
Honda hasn't said. Network RTK services often carry a fee after a period, so ask the dealer for the terms in writing before buying.
