Honda Miimo HRM 1000 to 4000

How it navigates and sets up

Every model works inside a boundary wire, usually laid by a Honda dealer. The HRM 1500 and up support a shortcut wire for passages down to 60 cm; the HRM 1000 doesn't. The slope limit is 47% inside the lawn, high for a wired mower, but only 17% where the wire runs along a slope. The HRM 2500 models can work alongside a second Miimo on very large lawns. Cutting

Three swing-back blades on a disc cut 220 mm–250 mm. Height runs from 20 mm to 60 mm, set by hand on most models and automatically on the HRM 4000 Live, which adjusts to grass growth. Honda quotes a guaranteed 58 dB(A)–60 dB(A). Obstacle detection is by 360° bump and lift sensors, so the mower touches things before turning. Per charge, Honda gives about 40 minutes for the HRM 1000 and 1500 models, 80 minutes for the HRM 2500 models and 90 minutes for the HRM 4000 Live. The 4000 Live is also the only one rated IPX5, meaning it can be hosed down.

App, connectivity and security

Non-Live models use Bluetooth to the Mii-monitor app. Live models add a built-in mobile connection (Honda's manual lists 3G and 4G bands) for remote control, Alexa, Free Zones and GPS geofence tracking. Honda doesn't mention any data fee, but doesn't explicitly rule one out. Every Miimo sounds an alarm when lifted and uses a security code.
