How it navigates and sets up

The Mission is a boundary-wire mower. A perimeter wire round the lawn, and around beds and other no-go areas, tells it where to stop. Because it doesn't depend on satellites, it works under dense tree cover where RTK mowers can lose their fix. The downside is the wire itself: it must be laid carefully and repaired if cut. Kress routes all sales through dealers, who normally handle installation. Kress also sells a magnetic strip for marking areas.

Kress rates the range for slopes up to 35%. The model names give maximum areas of 1,000–2,500 m², but see the variant guide above for Kress's smaller recommended figures.

Cutting

The Nano 1000 cuts 180 mm; the others cut 220 mm, each with three blades. Height is set with a knob from 30 mm to 60 mm. Kress's Side Trim Technology is designed to cut closer to lawn edges, though you'll likely still need a trimmer along walls. Kress quotes a perceived sound level of 61 dB(A) for most models and 67 dB(A) for the Nano.

App, connectivity and security

The Kress Mission app connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There's no 4G option; Kress's Marconi radio link add-on extends coverage if your router is far from the lawn. A PIN lock and rain sensor are fitted. Models without OAS find obstacles by bumping into them.

Running costs, warranty and support

The residential warranty is 2 years, extended by a year if you register within 30 days; batteries have one year. Kress's long-life blades fit all Mission models.

On 29 September 2026 Kress's UK site showed every wired Mission, Mission Nano and Mission Mega at exactly half its listed price. Kress hasn't said why. It could be a promotion or a clearance ahead of changes to the range; we don't know which. The models remain listed, and the warranty terms above still apply.
