How it navigates and sets up
The Landroid M500 Plus is a traditional boundary-wire robot mower. You lay a perimeter wire round the lawn, pegged on the surface or buried shallowly, and loop it round beds, ponds and trees you want the mower to avoid. Worx also sells an Off-Limits magnetic-strip module as an alternative way to fence off areas. Our installation guide walks through wire layout.
Worx rates it for slopes up to 35% and a lawn area of 500 m². Obstacle detection is by bump sensing; Worx's optional ACS module adds ultrasonic sensors intended to detect obstacles before contact.
Cutting
The disc carries three pivoting razor blades and cuts a 180 mm strip. It is offset towards one side, which Worx calls Cut-to-Edge, so the mower can cut closer to a lawn edge that is flush with a path; you'll still need to trim along walls and fences. Height is set on a dial from 30 mm to 60 mm, and the manual lists four positions.
The manual's declaration of conformity gives a guaranteed sound power of 67 dB(A), higher than most current robot mowers. If neighbours are close, schedule it for the daytime.
App, connectivity and security
The mower connects to the Landroid app by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for schedules and multi-zone set-up. A rain sensor pauses mowing in wet weather. Worx lists a Find My Landroid 4G tracking module as an option, but it isn't on the UK store at the moment. There's no GPS tracking without it.
Running costs, warranty and support
The warranty is 2 years, with a third year if you register within 30 days. Worx still sells Landroid blades, wire pegs and add-on modules in the UK. On 29 September 2026 Worx's UK store was showing the M500 Plus well below its regular price, which can signal a model being run down, although Worx hasn't said so. The RRP is £599.99; the current lowest price we track is £349.99.

Does the Landroid M500 Plus need a boundary wire?
Yes. It follows a perimeter wire that you peg or bury round the lawn edge and around flower beds or other areas it should avoid. Worx pitches it as a DIY installation.
How big a lawn can the Landroid M handle?
Worx rates the M500 Plus for 500 m². To give it some slack, it's best suited to lawns up to about 400 m².
Can I add obstacle avoidance?
Yes. Worx sells an ACS ultrasonic anti-collision module that fits the M500 Plus. Without it, the mower detects obstacles by bumping into them.
Is the Landroid M being discontinued?
Worx hasn't said. It is the only wired Landroid left on the UK site and was heavily discounted on 29 September 2026, which can point to a run-out, but that isn't confirmed.
