What do NERA, X, E and V mean in Husqvarna Automower model names?

Broadly, NERA marks Husqvarna's newer platform, X means built-in cellular, E means the EdgeCut trimming disc and V means a vision camera. Husqvarna doesn't publish a naming key on its UK site, so this is the pattern visible across its spec tables rather than an official definition, and there are exceptions.

• NERA is the generation designed around EPOS, Husqvarna's satellite RTK system for virtual boundaries. Older NERA models such as the Husqvarna Automower 450X NERA ship for a boundary wire and go wire-free with a plug-in; the newest ones are wire-free as standard. Pre-NERA models such as the Husqvarna Automower 450X are wire-only.
• X models have a cellular connection built in, which gives app control from anywhere and GPS theft tracking. Models without it, such as the Husqvarna Automower 305E NERA, rely on Wi-Fi unless a dealer fits a Connect Kit.
• E appears on models with EdgeCut, a second disc that trims closer to the lawn edge, such as the Husqvarna Automower 310E NERA.
• V models add an AI camera that spots obstacles and, Husqvarna says, helps where satellite signal is weak. It runs from the Husqvarna Automower Aspire R6V up to the Husqvarna Automower 450V NERA.

Letters combine, so a 410XE has cellular and EdgeCut. The digits give a rough sense of size (a 450 is for far bigger lawns than a 305), but they don't convert into square metres, so always check the rated area. Aspire is the entry-level name. See our Husqvarna brand page for the whole range.
