How it navigates and sets up
The 450V NERA replaces the 450X NERA at the top of Husqvarna's residential range (the all-wheel-drive 435X AWD NERA aside). It is wire-free: EPOS satellite RTK sets the virtual boundaries, and correction data arrives from Husqvarna's cloud over Wi-Fi or the built-in cellular link. For a lawn of this size, cellular is the practical route, as home Wi-Fi seldom reaches the far side of an acre or more. Where neither signal is available, the EPOS RS1 reference station supplies corrections locally.
The AI camera with infrared detects obstacles and, Husqvarna says, is combined with satellite data so the mower keeps covering areas under trees or beside buildings where RTK is weaker.
Rated area is 7,500 m². Slopes up to 50% are allowed inside the lawn and 25% at the edges. Large rural lawns often include steeper banks; if yours does, compare all-wheel-drive options.
Cutting
It shares the Husqvarna Automower 430V NERA's cutting system: a 240 mm disc with three pivoting razor blades and electric height adjustment from 20 mm to 60 mm. Husqvarna quotes a run time of 160 min per charge, the longest in the V NERA line, which is how it covers more ground than the 430V. Mowing is systematic. There's no EdgeCut disc. Husqvarna lists a perceived sound level of 58 dB(A).
App, connectivity and security
Automower Connect runs over cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with schedules, stay-out zones, remote control and Alexa and Google Home integration. GPS tracking, a PIN code and an alarm are standard, which is reassuring on an open property. Keep schedules to daylight hours for wildlife, despite the infrared camera.
Running costs, warranty and support
Husqvarna's consumer warranty is 2 years, battery included. That's short for a mower at this price, though Husqvarna's UK dealer network is a genuine advantage for servicing and repairs. Current prices start from £4,898.

What does the 450V NERA add over the 430V NERA?
A higher area rating (7,500 m² against 4,800 m²) and a longer run time per charge on Husqvarna's figures. Body, cutting system, camera, connectivity and slope rating are the same.
Is the 450V NERA the replacement for the 450X NERA?
Yes, Husqvarna names it as the successor. The 450X NERA uses radar and a boundary wire unless bought as the wire-free bundle; the 450V NERA is wire-free by default with a camera.
Does it need a reference station on a large property?
Not if Wi-Fi or mobile signal covers the lawn, as the RTK corrections come from Husqvarna's cloud. On remote plots with neither, the EPOS RS1 reference station supplies them locally.
