How it navigates and sets up
The 430V NERA is Husqvarna's 2026 replacement for the 430X NERA. Where the older mower shipped for boundary wire and needed an EPOS Plug-in to go wire-free, the 430V is wire-free out of the box. EPOS satellite RTK sets the virtual boundaries, with correction data from Husqvarna's cloud over Wi-Fi or the built-in cellular connection. On a big property that cellular link matters: Wi-Fi rarely stretches across several thousand square metres. If neither signal covers the lawn, the EPOS RS1 reference station is the fallback.
An AI camera with infrared handles obstacle detection. Husqvarna says it's fused with satellite positioning so the mower keeps covering areas where the sky view is blocked, such as tree-lined boundaries.
Rated area is 4,800 m². The slope rating is 50% inside the lawn and 25% at the boundary. That's good for a two-wheel-drive mower, but all-wheel-drive rivals such as the Segway Navimow X4 Series are rated higher; our slopes guide explains the percentages.
Cutting
The 430V NERA uses the larger Automower body with a 240 mm disc and three pivoting razor blades. Height adjusts electrically from 20 mm to 60 mm. There's no EdgeCut disc on this size. Mowing is systematic. Husqvarna lists a perceived sound level of 56 dB(A).
App, connectivity and security
Automower Connect works over cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can control and check the mower from anywhere with a phone signal. The consumer warranty is 2 years, battery included, with installation help and servicing from Husqvarna's UK dealers. Current prices start from £3,799. The Husqvarna Automower 320 NERA is the cheaper route if you have Wi-Fi across the lawn and can manage without a camera.

Is it worth paying extra for the Automower 430V NERA instead of the 320 NERA?
Only if you need what the 430V NERA adds: built-in cellular, an AI camera, GPS tracking or a bigger area rating. If your Wi-Fi reaches the whole lawn and the lawn is open, the Husqvarna Automower 320 NERA covers the same basics for less.
The two share a lot. Both use the larger Automower body with a 240 mm cut, electric height adjustment up to 60 mm, systematic mowing, and a 50% slope rating inside the lawn. Both use Husqvarna's EPOS satellite RTK with corrections from its cloud, and both have a PIN code and alarm.
The Husqvarna Automower 430V NERA adds four things:
- Cellular built in, so it gets RTK corrections and app access without Wi-Fi covering the lawn. The 320 NERA needs a dealer-fitted Connect Kit, an extender or the EPOS RS1 for that.
- An AI camera with infrared, which Husqvarna says helps it spot obstacles and keep working where satellite signal is weak, such as beside buildings.
- GPS theft tracking, which the 320 NERA doesn't list.
- A larger rating of 4,800 m², against 3,300 m².
Husqvarna also quotes the 430V NERA slightly quieter, at 56 dB(A) against 58 dB(A).
The 320 NERA costs from £2,499 and the 430V NERA from £3,799. Adding a Connect Kit to the 320 NERA narrows the connectivity gap but not the camera or tracking. For a large lawn with trees, buildings or no Wi-Fi outside, the 430V NERA is the more complete package.
Should I buy a discounted Automower 430X NERA or pay for the newer 430V NERA?
For most buyers the 430V NERA is the better choice unless a dealer offers the 430X NERA bundle at a clear discount. Husqvarna's 2026 announcement names the Husqvarna Automower 430V NERA as the replacement for the Husqvarna Automower 430X NERA, so what's left of the older model is run-out stock.
On paper the two are close. Both are rated for 4,800 m² wire-free, cut a 240 mm strip, handle slopes up to 50% inside the lawn, have built-in cellular and GPS tracking, and share a perceived sound level of 56 dB(A).
The differences are in how they see and how they're sold:
- Obstacles: the 430X NERA detects objects with radar. The 430V NERA has an AI camera with infrared, which Husqvarna says also helps it keep mowing where satellite signal is weak.
- Wire-free set-up: the 430X NERA only goes wire-free as a dealer bundle with the EPOS Plug-in. The 430V NERA is wire-free as standard.
- Wire backup: Husqvarna's spec table lists physical wire as well as virtual boundaries for the 430X NERA bundle, which could suit a heavily wooded boundary.
Compare what you're actually quoted. The 430X NERA bundle's RRP is £3,698, and current prices start from £3,299; the 430V NERA currently starts from £3,799. If the gap is small, the newer design makes more sense. Both carry the same 2 years consumer warranty.
