How it navigates and sets up
The GOAT O500 Panorama is the O-series model without RTK. Ecovacs calls its system panoramic vision fused with a 3D ToF sensor: cameras recognise the lawn and its surroundings, and the ToF sensor measures distances to obstacles. There is no boundary wire and no RTK station. Installing it means placing the charging station, connecting to the ECOVACS HOME app and mapping the lawn.
That makes it a sensible option for small gardens where the house, trees or neighbouring buildings would block satellite signal. Camera-based navigation does have its own limits, such as low light and lawns that blend into surrounding planting; our RTK vs vision vs LiDAR guide explains them.
Ecovacs rates it for 500 m², slopes up to 45%, passages of 70 cm and obstacles up to 30 mm.
Cutting
The cut is 220 mm wide with three replaceable blades and a height range of 30 mm to 80 mm. Like the O RTK models, it can cut to the very edge where it can drive onto a flush border, but leaves a strip along walls and raised edges. There's no trimmer.

App, connectivity and security
The ECOVACS HOME app covers mapping, zones, no-go areas and schedules. It connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with no cellular option. A PIN lock and a rain sensor are fitted, but there is no GPS theft tracking.
Running costs, warranty and support
The UK warranty is 3 years on the robot and two years on the battery, excluding blades and accessories. A charging-station cover is in the box; a full garage is extra. Prices start from £799. Compare that with the GOAT O RTK, which has sometimes sold for less despite a bigger rated area. It was listed as out of stock on Ecovacs UK at the end of the 2026 season.

Can the Ecovacs GOAT O500 Panorama mow at night or in poor light?
Ecovacs doesn't publish a clear answer, and there are good reasons not to plan on it. The Ecovacs GOAT O500 Panorama finds its way with panoramic cameras fused with a 3D ToF sensor, with no RTK. The ToF sensor emits its own light to measure distance, but the cameras depend on being able to see the lawn, and camera-based systems in general are less reliable in dusk, darkness and heavy shade.
The stronger reason is wildlife. Hedgehogs are active from dusk until dawn, and robot mowers running at night are one of the risks conservation groups warn about. Setting the schedule for daylight hours, and avoiding early mornings when hedgehogs may still be out, is sensible with any robot mower. Is the GOAT O500 Panorama worth its price for a small lawn?
It can be, but only if your garden gives an RTK mower problems. The Ecovacs GOAT O500 Panorama is rated for 500 m² and has an RRP of £799, which is a lot per square metre. Ecovacs' own O800 RTK covers more lawn with the same 220 mm cut and has been listed for less.
What the Panorama buys you is the lack of an RTK station. It navigates with cameras and a 3D ToF sensor, so a small garden boxed in by the house, fences and trees, where satellite signal is patchy, is where it earns its price. It is also simpler to set up: place the charging station, connect the app and map the lawn.
If your lawn is open to the sky, the Ecovacs GOAT O RTK (O600 RTK / O800 RTK) is the better-value route. Either way, check the current price, which is £799.

Is the O500 Panorama worth it over the GOAT O800 RTK?
Only if your garden is badly shaded for RTK. The O800 RTK is rated for 800 m² and has the same cut width, but needs an RTK station with a clear sky view. The Panorama avoids that station at the cost of a 500 m² limit.
