Which version do you need?
Three versions were sold in the UK: the smart SILENO+ 1,600 m² and 2,000 m² sets, which work with the Gardena smart App through the Gateway, and a non-smart 2,000 m² model controlled from the mower. If buying used, a smart set with its Gateway is the more useful choice. Note that Gardena's legacy page for the 1,600 m² set has a heading that says 2,000 m², so confirm the article number (19064-68 for the smart 1,600, 19065-68 for the smart 2,000, 4050-68 for the non-smart 2,000).
How it navigates and sets up
The SILENO+ was the large-lawn member of Gardena's wired SILENO family, rated for 1,600–2,000 m². Gardena now lists all three UK versions as legacy models, and those pages show only the article number, barcode, spare parts and manuals, not a spec sheet. We therefore can't confirm details such as slope limits, cutting height or noise from a current Gardena source, and we don't quote them here.
What matters for a second-hand buyer is that it works inside a boundary wire. If you're replacing an old SILENO+ on an existing installation, the wire may be reusable; if you're starting from scratch, you'll need to lay one. Our wire vs wire-free guide sets out the pros and cons.
Cutting
Gardena no longer publishes the SILENO+ cutting specification on its UK site. When looking at a used mower, check the blades and the cutting disc for damage, and budget for a fresh set of blades; see our blade guide.
App, connectivity and security
The two smart versions connect to the GARDENA smart App through the smart Gateway, which plugs into your router. Make sure a used smart set comes with its Gateway and that the seller removes the mower from their Gardena account before you buy. The non-smart version is set up from the mower's own controls.
Running costs, warranty and support
Gardena's three-year warranty applies to new mowers registered within three months of purchase, so a used SILENO+ is unlikely to have any cover left. The battery is the main risk: ask how old it is and how long the mower runs per charge.
Should you still buy one?
Only second-hand, only cheaply, and only if the seller can show it working. It suits someone with a large wired lawn who wants a Gardena for little money. If you want a warranty, buy new: the GARDENA SILENO life covers lawns up to about 1,000 m² on a wire, and the GARDENA smart SILENO free drops the wire, though at 1,200 m² it's rated for less than the SILENO+. For bigger lawns, look at other brands' current large-area mowers.

Start with the battery and the paperwork. A used GARDENA SILENO+ is unlikely to have any warranty left, because Gardena's three-year cover applies to mowers registered within three months of purchase and excludes batteries in any case.

Yes. Gardena's UK site lists all three versions of the GARDENA SILENO+ (the smart 1,600 m² and 2,000 m² sets and the non-smart 2,000 m²) as legacy models, with no buying option and no spec table. Gardena doesn't name a direct replacement.
The awkward part is lawn size. The SILENO+ was rated for up to 2,000 m², and nothing in Gardena's current UK range goes that high. The closest options are:
- The GARDENA smart SILENO free, rated for 1,200 m² and wire-free, using satellite RTK through the smart Gateway.
- The GARDENA SILENO life, a wired mower rated for up to 1,000 m². If you already have a SILENO+ boundary wire in place, it may be reusable.
