Claims vs reality

In practiceHusqvarna's spec lists 25% inside the working area but 15% along the boundary wire. Source
How it navigates and sets up
The Automower 105 follows a perimeter wire around the edge of the lawn and any obstacles. It has no satellite positioning, camera or app, so everything is set with the controls on the mower. Installing the wire is the main job, either yourself or through a dealer; our wired vs wire-free guide sets out the trade-offs.
Husqvarna rated it for 600 m² and slopes up to 25% inside the working area. It weighs 6.9 kg.
Cutting
It cuts with 3 pivoting razor blades on a disc across a 170 mm path, with manual height adjustment from 20 mm to 50 mm. Husqvarna lists 65 min of mowing per charge and a sound level of 65 dB(A), noticeably louder than current small Automowers. Our blade guide explains how often to change blades.
App, connectivity and security
Husqvarna lists none: no app and no Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or cellular option. Security is an alarm and a PIN code, with no GPS tracking. Weather protection is IPX4, a step below the IPX5 of newer models, so a garage or cover is worth considering.
Running costs, warranty and support
When new, it carried Husqvarna's 2 years UK consumer warranty. Any used unit will be well out of that. The main costs are blades and, eventually, a replacement battery; confirm with a Husqvarna dealer that parts are still available. See our winter storage guide for keeping an older battery healthy.
Should you still buy one?
Only as a cheap used buy for a small, flat lawn, and only after checking the battery's condition. For a new mower, the Husqvarna Automower Aspire R6V costs from RRP £999 and is wire-free, app-controlled and quieter. If you want to stay with a wire on a budget, look at the Flymo EasiLife or the Husqvarna Automower 305.

Automower 105 questions and answers
My Automower 105 is dying: is the Aspire R6V a sensible replacement?
For most owners, yes. The Husqvarna Automower 105 is discontinued, and the Husqvarna Automower Aspire R6V is Husqvarna's current entry-level Automower with the same 600 m² rating, so it should cover the same lawn.
What changes is how it works. The 105 had no app and followed a wire; the R6V has the Automower Connect app and no wire at all, relying on satellite positioning with corrections sent over your Wi-Fi. Your old wire won't be needed, so you can leave it in the ground or lift it. The R6V also handles steeper slopes, up to 40% against the 105's 25%, and cuts a wider strip.
The one check before buying is Wi-Fi coverage across the lawn. If it's patchy and you'd rather not pay for extras, a wired model such as the Husqvarna Automower 305 works much like your 105.
More questions
Frequently asked questions
Is the Automower 105 still sold?
No. Husqvarna UK lists it only on a support page marked discontinued. Husqvarna doesn't name a direct successor; the Aspire R6V is its current entry-level Automower.
Does the Automower 105 have an app?
No. Husqvarna's spec lists no app or connectivity. Schedules and settings are made on the mower itself.
Can I still get blades for the Automower 105?
Husqvarna's standard razor blades have been used across many Automower models, but check compatibility with a dealer or the support page before ordering, especially for an older unit.
How big a lawn can the Automower 105 cut?
Husqvarna rated it for 600 m², plus or minus 20%. A lawn with slopes or many obstacles will bring the practical figure down.
