Which version do you need?
As with the LUBA mini 2 AWD, the two sizes navigate differently. The 800 uses cameras plus network RTK over its built-in 4G connection, so it needs mobile signal and an open sky. The 1000 uses LiDAR plus cameras with no RTK, which suits enclosed gardens with walls and trees nearby, but its 4G module is an optional extra. The 1000 also has a bigger battery and double the zones.
How it navigates and sets up
The YUKA mini 2 needs no wire and no RTK aerial. You map the lawn by driving it round the edge in the Mammotion app.
The 800 combines three cameras with network RTK corrections delivered over its built-in 4G connection. Network RTK gives accurate positioning on open lawns but depends on a clear view of the sky and a usable mobile signal.
The 1000 uses a 360° LiDAR scanner and two cameras and doesn't use RTK at all. That makes it more at home in enclosed gardens where fences, walls and trees give the LiDAR plenty to range against, and where satellite signals are patchy. See our guide to RTK, vision and LiDAR for the trade-offs.
Both are rear-wheel drive and rated for 45% slopes. Mammotion says they fit through gaps of 55 cm, which is narrower than most wire-free mowers and useful for gardens split by side passages. At 10.6 kg–10.9 kg, they are easy to carry to a separate lawn.
Cutting
A single disc with five pivoting blades cuts a 190 mm strip, at heights from 20 mm to 60 mm. There is no separate edge disc, so expect a strip to trim by hand along walls and beds. Mammotion quotes 57 dB(A)–58 dB(A), quiet by robot-mower standards.
App, connectivity and security
The Mammotion app covers schedules, no-go zones and virtual walls, with up to 5–10 zones depending on the version and cloud backup of several maps. The 800 has 4G built in with 36 months of data. On the 1000, 4G is an optional module, and without it you are limited to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth range for remote control.
Running costs, warranty and support
The warranty is 3 years, including the battery according to Mammotion's UK warranty statement; blades are wear parts. Support is by email, chat and phone rather than through dealers. Prices start from £799, but check stock before planning around it.

How steep a slope can the YUKA mini 2 manage?
Mammotion rates it for 45%, about 24 degrees. It's rear-wheel drive, so for steeper banks the all-wheel-drive LUBA mini 2 AWD is the better fit.
YUKA mini 2 or LUBA mini 2 AWD?
The YUKA mini 2 is cheaper, lighter and fits through narrower gaps. The LUBA mini 2 AWD adds all-wheel drive, an 80% slope rating, a separate edge disc and larger rated areas. Flat, small lawns suit the YUKA; slopes suit the LUBA.
Is there a subscription?
No subscription is needed to mow. Mammotion says its network RTK service is free. The 800 includes three years of 4G data; 4G on the 1000 needs the optional module, which Mammotion says includes three years of data.
