Which version do you need?
All three share the body, deck, battery and 500 m² rating. The M5 uses RTK with cameras and ships with its own RTK station, or can use network RTK over 4G. The M5 LiDAR swaps RTK for a 360° LiDAR scanner, which suits gardens with walls, trees and fences to see but may struggle on large open lawns. The M5 Pro, added in July 2026, combines LiDAR, RTK and cameras, gets more zones and 12 months of 4G, and costs the most.
How it navigates and sets up
The M5 is wire-free, and Anthbot sells it with three navigation packages. The basic M5 fuses RTK satellite positioning with two cameras; it comes with an RTK station, pole and stake, or you can use network RTK over the built-in 4G connection. The M5 LiDAR drops RTK and uses a 360° LiDAR scanner with the cameras, which suits gardens with plenty of fixed features. The M5 Pro combines all three. Anthbot rates the M5 for 45% slopes with 2WD, and quotes a 40 mm climbing limit.
Cutting
The deck is 200 mm wide, with 5 blades on a single disc. Height is set in the app from 30 mm to 70 mm. Anthbot claims the M5 trims right up to the lawn edge (it calls this EdgeWiz on the Pro), which would reduce strimming, but we haven't been able to verify it. Anthbot quotes 58 dB(A).
App, connectivity and security
Everything runs through the ANTHBOT app, with up to 20–32 zones depending on the version. All three have 4G built in, with 3 months–12 months of service included. That covers GPS tracking and an alert if the mower leaves its mapped area.
Running costs, warranty and support
Anthbot's warranty is 3 years on the mower and charging station, two years on the battery, and excludes blades. It starts 14 days after the order date. There is no UK office or dealer network, and Anthbot's EU store prices in euros only, so there is no UK RRP. Can I buy an Anthbot M5 in the UK?
Yes, from Anthbot's EU store, which ships to the UK. It charges in euros, though, and Anthbot doesn't publish a sterling price, so check your card's foreign transaction fees.
Does the M5 need an RTK base station?
Not necessarily. The standard M5 comes with an RTK station but can use network RTK over 4G instead. The M5 LiDAR uses LiDAR and cameras, and the M5 Pro can run on LiDAR plus network RTK, so neither needs a station in the garden.
Will the M5 work after the free 4G period ends?
Anthbot says it mows without a subscription. Once the included 4G period ends you lose network RTK and remote features unless you renew, so the standard M5 would then rely on its own RTK station.
How big a lawn can the M5 handle?
Anthbot rates all three versions for 500 m². If your lawn is close to that, or larger, look at the M9, which uses the same body with a bigger battery.
