Which version do you need?
The M 700 and M+ 700 are the same mower rated for 700 m². The M+ adds a built-in cellular modem for the Bosch Smart Gardening app, SmartMowing and Alexa or Google Assistant linking. With no Bosch statement on how long the app will be supported and only 2G bands listed in the manual, pay extra for the M+ only if the difference is small.
How it navigates and sets up
The Indego M works inside a perimeter wire, with the docking station and 175 m of wire supplied. Like the rest of the range, it uses LogiCut to mow in parallel lines and keep track of what it has cut. It handles up to 3 lawn areas within its 700 m² rating and passages down to 75 cm between wires. The slope limit is 27%, so it suits fairly level gardens. Our installation guide covers wire layout.
Cutting
Three pivoting blades cut 190 mm, with height from 30 mm to 50 mm. BorderCut runs along the wire at the start of a full mow, though a strip next to walls or paving is normal for wired mowers. Bosch's measured sound power is 61 dB(A). The longer 75-minute run per charge is the main difference from the Indego S.
App, connectivity and security
The M 700 has no connectivity. The M+ 700 adds a cellular modem for the Bosch Smart Gardening app, SmartMowing scheduling and voice-assistant linking. Bosch's manual lists only 2G (GSM) bands, and there's no Bosch statement on the future of the service. Both have a PIN auto-lock and an alarm.
Running costs, warranty and support
On new tools, Bosch gives 2 years, or three with MyBosch registration within four weeks. Bosch UK still sells docks, perimeter wire and a wire repair kit for the Indego range. Bosch's last UK list prices were £1,158–£1,249, but they aren't a guide to today's value.
Should you still buy one?
Only at a clear discount, and the plain M 700 makes more sense than paying extra for the M+. It's a well-specified wired mower on paper, but Bosch has walked away from the range without a successor or support statement. The GARDENA SILENO life and Husqvarna Automower 310 Mark II are current wired alternatives with full backing. The Bosch Bosch VISIMOW18V is not a replacement for this size of lawn.

The same chassis and cutting deck, but the M is rated for 700 m² rather than 500 m², runs for about 75 minutes per charge instead of 60, and comes with more wire (175 m).
What should I buy instead of an Indego M?
For a similar-sized wired lawn with full support, consider the Gardena SILENO life or Husqvarna Automower 310 Mark II. The Bosch VISIMOW is not a like-for-like replacement: it's for much smaller lawns and has no dock.
