How it navigates and sets up
The 312V is the biggest of Husqvarna's three compact V models and is the same machine as the Husqvarna Automower Aspire R6V and Husqvarna Automower 308V, with a larger area rating. It uses Husqvarna's EPOS satellite RTK for virtual boundaries, taking correction data from Husqvarna's cloud over your Wi-Fi, so no wire and no reference station are needed where Wi-Fi reaches the lawn. The AI camera detects obstacles and, according to Husqvarna, is fused with satellite navigation to help in weak-signal spots.
On a lawn big enough to need the 312V, the far end is more likely to be out of Wi-Fi range. Husqvarna's answers are a dealer-fitted Connect Kit for cellular, or the EPOS RS1 reference station. Plan for one of them if your router is at the front of the house and the lawn is at the back.
The rated area is 1,200 m², and slopes up to 40% are allowed inside the lawn (15% at the boundary). See our slopes guide for what those figures mean in practice.
Cutting
Cutting width is 220 mm, using three pivoting razor blades on one disc. Height runs from 20 mm to 50 mm and is set manually. The mower works in systematic lines. There's no EdgeCut disc, which is one of the practical reasons to consider the Husqvarna Automower 310E NERA instead. Husqvarna lists a perceived sound level of 63 dB(A).
App, connectivity and security
Automower Connect covers schedules and temporary stay-out zones over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus Alexa and Google Home integration. A PIN code and alarm are fitted, but Husqvarna doesn't list GPS tracking. Remote access relies on your Wi-Fi unless a Connect Kit is added.

Should I buy the 312V or the 310E NERA?
The 312V has a camera and costs less. The 310E NERA wire-free version adds EdgeCut, electric height adjustment and a 1,500 m² rating but has no camera and a lower slope rating of 30%. Choose the 312V for obstacle avoidance on a mid-sized lawn, the 310E NERA for neater edges on a bigger one.
Is the 312V a NERA model?
No. The V models (Aspire R6V, 308V, 312V) are a separate, simpler line. NERA models have electric height adjustment and, on the 405VE and above, built-in cellular.
How steep can the lawn be?
Husqvarna rates the 312V for 40% inside the working area but only 15% along the boundary, so steep edges need care when mapping.
